MOORESTOWN FRIENDS SIXTH-GRADER CHOSEN FOR ALL SJ MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERT BAND

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Moorestown Friends School sixth-grader Emily Whitley of Moorestown has been selected for the All South Jersey Middle School Concert Band. A clarinetist, she was among the nearly 400 students who auditioned; 198 were accepted.

“Being chosen as a sixth-grader is a special honor,” said George Stallé, instrumental music teacher at MFS and also Whitley’s private teacher.  Stallé, a Moorestown resident, notes that over 90% of the students selected are seventh- and eighth-graders with much more experience than Whitley.

Whitley will perform Sun., March 5 with the All South Jersey Middle School ‘Blue’ Band. The 3 p.m. concert will take place at Egg Harbor Township Middle School , 4034 Fernwood Avenue, in  Egg Harbor Township.
