SENIOR PHIL DORSEY NAMED NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLAR
Senior Phillip Dorsey has been designated a National Achievement Scholarship winner. He is one of 800 scholarship recipients out of more than 160,000 African-American students who enter the National Achievement Scholarship program. Dorsey will attend Princeton University in the fall. The National Achievement® Scholarship Program is an academic competition established in 1964 to provide recognition for outstanding African-American high school students. Students may enter both the National Achievement Program and the National Merit® Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and meeting other published requirements for participation. Last year, Dorsey was inducted into the Cum Laude Society, a national honor society for academically challenging independent schools, and the National Spanish Honor Society. He is a member of the boys basketball team and also involved in the robotics program.
